Age and eligibility: read the vacancy notice

The official careers page lists standing category ceilings of under 35 for General Services/Support roles (G1–G7), under 45 for Professional roles (P1–P7), and under 50 for Director roles (D1–D2). Those are not a substitute for a vacancy notice. A role may impose further conditions, and no applicant should assume qualification solely from an age category or a broad functional area listed on the careers page.

Safe verification steps

1. Start at ECOWAS Careers or the official Jobs page.
2. Open and read the complete official notice for the exact role before submitting documents.
3. Match the job title, institution, grade, duty station, deadline, application form, recipient email, and requirements with the official notice itself.
4. If you are interested in the young-graduate route, use only the official Young Graduates Immersion Programme site and review its live terms and profile requirements separately.
5. Submit information only through the current official method specified for that opportunity and retain a copy of what you submit.

ECOWAS recruitment-scam safeguards

• ECOWAS states that it does not charge a recruitment fee and will not request your account details. Do not pay for an application form, job slot, test, shortlist, interview, medical, training, or appointment.
• Do not share bank-account credentials, card details, PIN, OTP, email password, or identity documents with an unverified person.
• Do not use a generic recruitment link because a social-media post calls it “massive,” “urgent,” or “portal open.” Verify the individual vacancy on ECOWAS’s official website.
• Do not submit false qualifications, work history, references, age details, certificates, or identity records. You remain responsible for your application.
• Be cautious of recruitment emails that do not match the role-specific contact details published in the official vacancy notice.
