1. About Dangote And This Recruitment

Let us be real for a second. Dangote is not just any company. They are the biggest industrial giant in West Africa. Cement, sugar, packaging, petroleum, that famous refinery, ports, name it. They have a hand in almost everything moving the economy. So when they open senior roles like these, smart professionals drop what they are doing and pay attention.

Four roles are open right now, spread across their Infrastructure, Packaging, Petrochemicals, and Cement arms. Let me walk you through each one.

2. Head, Development & Strategy (Infrastructure & Logistics)

This is the big one. A top leadership seat reporting straight to the Managing Director. Your job? Shape the entire long term strategy for the Infrastructure and Logistics side of the business. That includes driving the massive Olokola Deep Sea Port project from paper all the way to reality. Heavy stuff.

Who they want:

  • A first degree (at least a Second Class Upper) in Economics, Business, Engineering, Finance, or something close.
  • A Master’s is a must here. Think MBA or an MSc in Strategy or Project Finance from a solid school.
  • Got a CFA, ACCA, or ACA? That puts you ahead of the pack.
  • You need serious mileage. At least 15 years in strategy, infrastructure, or consulting, and 5 of those years leading people.
  • If you have worked with the World Bank, AfDB, IFC, or on big port projects before, you are exactly who they are looking for.

3. Export Sales Manager (Dangote Packaging Limited)

This role is all about selling packaging products to the world. We are talking PP woven sacks, BOPP bags, FIBC bags, the works. You would chase new markets across West Africa, build relationships with foreign buyers, sort out all the export paperwork, and hit your revenue targets. If you love closing deals across borders, you will enjoy this one.

Who they want:

  • A degree in International Business, Marketing, Business Admin, or similar. An MBA or export certification is a nice bonus.
  • At least 8 years selling for export, ideally in packaging, plastics, or FMCG supply chains.
  • You must really understand export procedures, Nigerian customs, Incoterms, and how international logistics works.
  • You know the West African market and you do not mind hopping on a plane now and then.
  • Comfortable with MS Office and ERP systems.

4. Senior Production Manager (Dangote Packaging Limited)

This is a hands-on factory floor leadership role. You would run the show on PP woven sack production. Extrusion, weaving, lamination, printing, cutting, stitching, baling, all of it falls under you. Plus the people, the machines, the quality, the costs, and the safety. It is busy, it is technical, and it needs someone who can keep a high volume plant running smoothly under pressure.

Who they want:

  • A degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or Polymer Technology, or something related.
  • Between 8 and 12 plus years in plastic packaging or PP woven sack manufacturing. At least 5 of those running a plant or senior production team.
  • You know your way around the machinery. Extrusion, circular looms, lamination, printing, you have handled them.
  • Strong on leadership, cutting costs, and keeping quality tight.
  • Good with MS Office and production planning tools.

5. Regional Finance Manager (Dangote Cement)

If numbers are your thing, pay attention. This role leads the whole finance game across a region. Budgets, forecasts, reporting, risk, you own it. You would keep a close eye on cement plant costs, push for savings wherever possible, keep everything compliant, and basically act as the money brain for regional leadership. It usually reports to the Regional CFO for Pan Africa, so you are sitting near the top.

6. Why Working At Dangote Is Worth It

Is all the stress of a senior application really worth it? Honestly? Yes. Let me tell you why.

  • The pay at this level is some of the best you will find anywhere in the country.
  • The name alone does wonders. Put Dangote on your CV and doors start opening on their own.
  • You get to touch landmark projects, like that Olokola port, the kind of work most companies cannot even dream of offering.

7. Insider Tips Before You Apply

A few things I have picked up watching these applications over the years. Small details, big difference.

  • Match your CV to the exact role. A one size fits all CV dies at the screening stage here. Mirror the duties they listed.
  • Use real numbers. Do not just say you “improved sales”. Say by how much. Senior recruiters love proof, not talk.
  • Use a laptop, not your phone. Trust me, uploading documents and filling these forms is a headache on mobile.
  • Never pay anybody. Dangote does not charge a kobo to apply. Anyone asking you for money is a scammer. Full stop.
  • Move fast. Senior roles fill up quietly once enough strong people apply. Do not sleep on it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Dangote charge for applications?
Not at all. It is free. If anyone asks you to pay, they are a fraudster.

Can I apply for more than one role?
Go for the one that fits your background. Throwing yourself at every role usually does more harm than good.

Are these roles based in Nigeria?
Yes, they are. Though a few of them involve some international travel.

Do I need a professional certification?
For the Finance Manager role, yes, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA is a must. For the others, it is a strong plus but not always compulsory.

If this was helpful, do me one favour. Share it on WhatsApp and send it to that experienced friend who keeps talking about leaving their current job. You might just hand them their next big break. Good luck out there.
