Careers Verified Limited is a recruitment and HR firm. It places candidates with its client companies, which are mostly in banking, fintech, telecoms and internet service providers. That means the job you take is usually with one of those clients, not with Careers Verified itself. This guide explains which kinds of roles these recruitment drives usually include, what the adverts ask for, how to apply without paying anyone, and how to check that a listing is genuine.

What Careers Verified Limited recruits for
Careers Verified advertises for several client companies at once, so the openings span different levels. Across the adverts we checked, the job titles included:
- Graduate Trainee, Direct Sales, Consumer Lending and POS Sales (banking)
- Graduate Trainee, Sales, Consumer Lending and Merchant Acquisition
- Graduate Trainee Relationship Officer
- Personal Banking Relationship Officer
- Entry-Level Banking Sales Officer
- Management Trainee, Business Development Specialist
- Experienced Direct Sales Specialist
- Business Development Officer, Asset Management (Lagos)
- Customer Acquisition or Customer Service Specialist
- Telecom Sales Specialist (fibre to the home and office)
Most adverts list several states in their locations, including Lagos, Abuja (FCT), Rivers, Kano, Enugu and Oyo. Some are restricted to a smaller set of cities, so read the location line on the advert you are applying for.
The number of openings is not a fixed figure. Each advert states its own count, and the same firm can post several adverts with different counts at different times. We found adverts stating 17, 21 and 29 openings for different roles. Treat any single total as a snapshot and count the live adverts yourself.
Pay and what the adverts say about it
Pay is not listed on every advert. Where it is, the figures we found were:
- Experienced Direct Sales Specialist: listed at N140,000 to N150,000 a month on a third-party job board that shows employer-listed pay.
- Management Trainee, Business Development Specialist: listed at N140,000 to N150,000 a month on a third-party job board.
These are the figures on those job boards on the day we checked, not a promise. Confirm the pay with the advert or the recruiter before you accept an offer.
Requirements for the roles
Requirements differ by role, but the adverts we read repeated the same core points:
- A degree or HND in any discipline for most graduate and experienced roles. Some management trainee adverts name specific courses such as Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Finance or Management.
- NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. Graduate trainee adverts ask for this directly.
- Graduate trainee roles are aimed at recent graduates with little or no work experience, usually 0 to 2 years.
- Experienced roles ask for relevant work history. One direct sales advert asked for 1 to 3 years in direct sales, field sales, customer acquisition or business development. A management trainee advert asked for 1 to 2 years of relevant experience, with fresh graduates encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills, especially for sales and banking roles.
- Willingness to meet sales targets, since many of these roles are target driven.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills appear in several graduate adverts.
Professional certifications are described as an added advantage, not a requirement, in the adverts we read.
How to apply, step by step
- Pick one or two roles that match your real experience. Applying to many unrelated roles at once rarely helps.
- Read the full advert, including the job summary, responsibilities, qualifications, pay line and the closing date.
- Check that you meet the minimum qualification and NYSC requirement. If the advert asks for 1 to 3 years of experience and you have less, a graduate trainee advert may suit you better.
- Update your CV so the sales, customer service or banking experience you have appears near the top. Keep it to a page or two and match the wording of the advert where it is accurate.
- Use the apply link on the advert. The adverts we checked link to an online application form. Keep a screenshot or copy of the confirmation.
- Keep your phone line and email active. Recruiters contact candidates quickly, and a missed call can cost you a slot.
Closing dates
Each advert has its own closing date. The adverts we checked closed at different times: a graduate trainee programme advert in our search closed on 23 August 2026, which has already passed, while experienced and management trainee adverts listed closing dates in December 2026. Because of this, check the closing date on the live advert before you apply. Do not rely on a closing date from a repost, since reposted adverts often carry older or newer dates than the original.
Tips to improve your chances
- Match your CV to the role. A sales candidate should show targets met, customers acquired or revenue handled.
- Prepare for an aptitude test and a short interview. Practise a two-minute answer about why you want a sales or banking role.
- Research the client bank or company if the advert names one. Knowing its products will help you answer interview questions.
- Be honest about your experience. Recruiters check references, and a mismatch can end an application.
- Keep a simple tracker with the role, date applied, closing date and status, so you know which adverts to follow up.
Scam warning: recruitment you should never pay for
Fake recruitment is common, and it often uses real company names. No genuine employer or recruitment firm asks you to pay a fee to apply, to be shortlisted, to “process” your application, or to buy a training kit before you start. Be wary of anyone who asks for a payment by bank transfer or card, who contacts you only through a personal messaging app, or who asks for your bank PIN or password. If a message makes you feel rushed, pause and check the advert on the official job board or the company website before you reply.
Documents to have ready before you apply
Having your papers ready means you can respond the same day when a recruiter asks for them. Keep digital copies of your degree or HND certificate and transcript, your NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, a current CV, and a recent passport photograph. Save each one as a clearly named PDF so you can attach it to an online form without delay.
Write your CV around the work you have actually done. For sales roles, list the targets you met, the customers or accounts you handled and any product you sold. For graduate roles, list your final-year project, any leadership role in school and any relevant internship.
Frequently asked questions
Is Careers Verified a direct employer?
No. It is a recruitment and HR firm that hires for client companies. The job you take is usually with one of those clients, and the offer letter should name the company that will employ you.
Do I need experience to apply?
Not for every role. Graduate trainee adverts are written for recent graduates with little or no work experience. Experienced adverts ask for prior work history in a similar function.
Does it cost money to apply?
No. Never pay to apply. Legitimate recruitment does not charge applicants for an application, an interview or a placement.
When do the roles close?
Each advert sets its own closing date. Check the live advert, because the dates vary and some roles close early once enough applications arrive.
