How to check your own status safely
- Open the official PSC Police Recruitment Portal directly—do not use a link from a random social-media post or WhatsApp message.
- Use your original application details only. The official FAQ identifies the portal dashboard, email, and SMS as official notification channels for shortlisted candidates.
- Read the current notice attached to your individual status before printing, travelling, submitting documents, or preparing for any stage.
- If your portal status or notice instructs you to print a college call-up slip, follow the current official instruction. The live portal says its call-up slip must be printed in colour, not black and white.
- Use only PSC’s published support contacts if you encounter a legitimate portal issue. Keep your login credentials, NIN, BVN, and personal documents private.
Prepare documents only for a verified call-up
The current PSC portal lists a call-up slip, NIN slip, BVN slip, and original plus photocopies of certificates and other required documents for resumption. Treat this as a guide only for a candidate who receives the relevant official instruction. Your own notice may state further requirements, location, date, time, or documents. Do not travel or hand originals to an unverified person merely because a circulating checklist says so.
What the recruitment FAQ does—and does not—mean
The PSC FAQ describes a general sequence that may include shortlisting, physical/credential screening, CBT if applicable, medical screening, final selection, and training. It does not mean that every applicant is at the same stage, that a CBT is live for you, or that a closed/new recruitment application is open. Candidate status and instructions must come from the current official portal and individual notification.
Fraud and identity safeguards
- The PSC says the recruitment is entirely free. Do not pay anyone for application, shortlisting, CBT, result checking, screening, medicals, documentation, training admission, or a guaranteed appointment.
- Do not share your portal password, email password, NIN, BVN, OTP, bank-card details, or original credentials with an agent, group admin, or personal account.
- Do not accept a PDF, screenshot, phone call, or social-media post as proof of your status unless it matches the official portal and PSC communication for your own application.
- Do not use altered certificates, results, birth records, identity details, guarantor forms, NIN, or medical documents. You remain responsible for what is submitted in your name.
- Report suspicious payment demands or impersonation using the official portal/PSC channels rather than replying to the suspected scammer.
