Few moments cause as much anxiety as waiting for your university offer. If you sat the Post-UTME at the University of Port Harcourt, you are probably refreshing your phone every hour. This guide explains the UNIPORT admission list in plain terms. You will learn what it is, when each batch drops, and exactly how to check your status without paying anybody.
What is the UNIPORT admission list?
The UNIPORT admission list is the official record of candidates offered admission for the session. UNIPORT uploads it to the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System, known as CAPS. The school releases it in batches. Your name appears once the university proposes you for a course.
First, second and third batch lists
UNIPORT does not admit everyone at once. It releases the list in stages.
- First batch: the earliest offers, usually to candidates with the highest aggregate scores.
- Second batch: more offers after the first round, often including supplementary cases.
- Third batch: the final clean-up list, which may include change-of-course candidates.
Missing the first batch is not the end. Many students still get in on later lists.
When is the UNIPORT admission list out?
There is no fixed national date. UNIPORT releases each batch after JAMB opens admission processing for the year. JAMB and the school announce the exact timing themselves. So treat any “leaked date” with caution, and check official channels instead of social media rumours.
How to check the UNIPORT admission list on JAMB CAPS
The surest way is through your own JAMB profile. Follow these steps.
- Visit the official JAMB portal and log in with your email and password.
- Click “Check Admission Status” on your dashboard.
- Select the 2026 UTME year, then enter your registration number.
- Read the status. “Admitted” means you have an offer.
- If admitted, accept or reject the offer right there on CAPS.
You can start on the official JAMB website. Our guide on how to check your JAMB admission status on CAPS breaks down each screen.
How to check on the UNIPORT portal
UNIPORT also posts names on its own portal. Visit the admissions page, enter your JAMB number, and view your status. If your name shows there but not on CAPS, wait a little. The two systems usually sync within a few days.
What to do after you are admitted
Accept the offer on CAPS first. Then print your admission letter and your JAMB letter. Pay the acceptance fee before the deadline. After that, complete your online school registration and medical screening. Upload clear copies of your documents. Keep every receipt and reference number safe, because you will need them during clearance.
What if your name is not on the list?
Stay calm and keep checking the later batches. Consider change of course or institution if your score allows it. You can also look at schools with lower cut-off marks. Read our guide on UNIPORT Post-UTME to see how the school used your score.
Frequently asked questions
Do I pay to check the UNIPORT admission list? No. Checking on CAPS or the school portal is free. Never pay an “agent” who promises to upload your name.
Can I accept the admission later? It is risky. Accept as soon as you see the offer, because the slots are limited.
My status still says “not admitted”. Is it over? No. Later batches are still loading. Keep checking until the school closes admission for the year.
Your offer can come in any batch, so patience really matters. Check only the official UNIPORT and JAMB channels, avoid fake agents, and act fast once you are admitted.
