UNIUYO Admission List: How to Check University of Uyo Admission

Every year, thousands of candidates pick the University of Uyo as their first choice. Only some of them smile when the offers drop. The UNIUYO admission list decides who joins the next set of students. Here is how to read it, when it tends to appear, and how to check yours the safe way.

When the UNIUYO admission list drops

There is no fixed national date, so ignore anyone quoting an exact day with confidence. UNIUYO starts releasing names after JAMB opens admission processing for the year. The school and JAMB announce the real timing. Watch their official pages instead of relying on WhatsApp broadcasts.

First, second and final lists explained

The university admits in waves rather than all at once. The first list rewards the strongest scores. The second list adds more candidates and sorts out special cases. The final list cleans up the remaining slots, including many change-of-course applicants. Each wave gives you a fresh chance.

Steps to check on JAMB CAPS

  1. Sign in to your JAMB profile using your registered email.
  2. Tap “Check Admission Status” on the dashboard.
  3. Choose 2026 as the year and enter your UTME registration number.
  4. Look at the result. “Admitted” confirms your UNIUYO offer.
  5. Accept or reject the offer straight away on CAPS.

If any screen confuses you, our guide on how to check your JAMB admission status on CAPS explains it clearly.

Using the UNIUYO student portal

The university also shows admission status on its official portal. Put in your JAMB number and view the outcome. When the portal and CAPS disagree, trust CAPS, because that is where you accept the offer officially.

After you see “Admitted”

Accept the offer first, then print your admission and JAMB letters. Pay your acceptance fee before the deadline passes. Finish your registration, upload your documents, and attend the medical screening. Hold on to every payment slip.

If your name is missing

Do not panic or pay a “sorter”. Keep checking the later lists, and weigh change of course or institution if your score supports it. To understand how your mark was calculated, read our guide on UNIUYO Post-UTME.

Documents to prepare before clearance

Once your name shows on the UNIYO admission list, clearance moves quickly, so get your papers ready in advance. You will typically need your JAMB admission letter, your JAMB result slip, your O’level certificate or result, your birth certificate, and recent passport photographs. You may also need a state of origin or local government letter. Scan clean copies and keep both soft and hard versions. Organised candidates finish clearance far faster than those who scramble at the last minute.

Do not fall for admission scams

Every year, desperate candidates lose money to people who claim they can arrange a spot on the UNIUYO admission list. Ignore them. No agent, no “connection”, and no fast-track payment can place your name. The University of Uyo works through CAPS and its official portal only. Keep your details private and report anyone demanding cash for admission.

Can a lower score still get you in?

Yes, it happens often. If your first choice slips away, UNIUYO may offer you a related course through supplementary admission. Change of course on CAPS is another route when your score fits a less competitive department. Keep your JAMB profile active and respond fast to any new offer, because quiet candidates get skipped.

Quick questions

Do I pay to check? Never. Both CAPS and the UNIUYO portal are free to use.

Can the school withdraw my admission if I delay acceptance? It can. Accept promptly so nobody reassigns your slot to another candidate.

Is a “not admitted” status permanent? No. Later lists are still loading until admission closes.

Your offer may come early or late, so stay patient and stay alert. Use only the official UNIUYO and JAMB channels, keep your money in your pocket, and act quickly once you are admitted.
