Abeokuta is home to one of Nigeria’s leading agriculture-focused universities. If you chose the Federal University of Agriculture, your eyes are now fixed on the FUNAAB admission list. This guide tells you what to expect, when names appear, and how to confirm your offer without stress or wasted money.
How FUNAAB handles admission
FUNAAB admits through the JAMB CAPS platform. The university proposes candidates there and releases the list in rounds rather than one sitting. Each round brings a new set of names, so your offer could land early or come later in the cycle.
Reading the batches
The first round usually covers the strongest scores. The second round adds more candidates and settles supplementary cases. The final round mops up the remaining places, often including those who changed course. A quiet first round simply means you wait for the next one.
Checking your FUNAAB admission list on CAPS
Head to your JAMB profile first. Log in with your email and password, open the admission status page, pick the 2026 UTME year, and enter your registration number. Your status then shows on screen. If it reads “admitted”, FUNAAB has offered you a place, and you can accept without leaving the page. For a screen-by-screen view, see our guide on checking your JAMB admission status.
The school portal route
FUNAAB also publishes names on its official portal. Enter your JAMB number to see your status. When the portal moves ahead of CAPS, give the two systems a little time to agree, then confirm your acceptance on CAPS.
What to do once admitted
- Accept the offer on CAPS.
- Print your admission letter and JAMB slip.
- Pay the acceptance fee before the deadline.
- Complete registration, screening and medicals.
Keep copies of every document and receipt for clearance.
When your name is not there
Stay calm and keep an eye on the later rounds. If your aggregate allows, change of course or institution is a smart backup. Our guide on what to do if you get no admission lays out the options.
Why your FUNAAB admission list status may stall
When your status stays quiet, run through a short checklist. Your O’level result may not be uploaded on CAPS, so confirm all sittings are there. Your JAMB result might still be verifying. A high cut-off for your course can also delay your offer to a later round. Clearing these issues early strengthens your spot on the FUNAAB admission list.
Avoid admission scams
Fraudsters love admission season, and they move fast. Some pretend to be FUNAAB officials. Others promise a guaranteed place on the FUNAAB admission list once you pay them. It is all fake. The university never sells admission through agents. Pay official fees on the school portal, verify every account number, and keep your JAMB password to yourself.
Can a low score still work?
A modest score is not the end of your FUNAAB dream. The school runs supplementary admission for some courses, and change of course on CAPS can match you to a less crowded department. Keep checking your profile and accept a sensible offer when it comes. Many students enter through these later openings every session.
Quick questions
Do I need to pay anybody? No. Checking is free, and no agent can add your name.
Should I accept immediately? Yes. Delays can cost you the slot.
Is “not admitted” permanent? No. Later rounds continue until admission closes.
Your place can appear in any round, so patience and vigilance matter. Stick to official FUNAAB and JAMB channels, guard your money, and accept your offer the day it appears.
