Nigerian Correctional Service Recruitment: Official 2026 Status Guide

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) was part of the prior CDCFIB recruitment exercise with the Nigerian Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and NSCDC. NCoS’s own updates show that the process advanced to preparations for a Computer-Based Test for shortlisted candidates. That historic process must not be presented as an open 2026 form.

Current official status

The official CDCFIB recruitment portal says its 2024/2025 physical-screening scheduling portal is closed. It asks readers to check back through official channels for updates about the next phase. If you did not apply in that intake, do not attempt to register through a link or agent claiming that NCoS recruitment has reopened.

For existing shortlisted candidates

• Use the official CDCFIB portal and NCoS website to check only the stage that applies to your own candidate record.
• Do not pay for a shortlist, CBT slot, physical screening, medical, training, or appointment letter. NCoS says recruitment is free and merit-based.
• Do not submit documents, personal details, or banking information through a third-party website, WhatsApp group, or email account.
• Read each official notice for its specific cycle and stage; earlier eligibility lists, dates, and documents are not proof of a fresh opening.

Historic 2025 notice: context only

NCoS’s June 2025 CDCFIB notice said candidates could apply to only one of the four participating paramilitary agencies. That rule belonged to that application exercise. Do not assume it confirms a new recruitment window, deadline, or current qualification requirement; wait for a new dated official notice.
